CEBO Celebrates Its 50th Anniversary on Forteiland IJmuiden

On Thursday, June 5, CEBO celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special jubilee event on Forteiland IJmuiden.

Together with colleagues, the company marked five decades of CEBO while enjoying a day filled with activities, great food, live music and plenty of opportunities to connect.

The day began with a boat trip to the island, where participants could take part in a variety of activities. Colleagues tried their hand at archery, joined guided tours of the historic fort, raced through the harbour in speedboats and challenged themselves with the Powerfan, a controlled free-fall experience from a considerable height.

The helicopter flights proved especially popular. Departing from Forteiland IJmuiden, the helicopter followed the coastline towards Zandvoort before turning above the famous race circuit. The return flight took passengers back towards IJmuiden, passing the locks and harbour before landing once again on the island. Along the way, participants enjoyed spectacular views of the coastline, harbour and surrounding area. Even the CEBO site could be clearly seen from the air. For many colleagues, this trip was one of the highlights of the day.

Before dinner, several employees were recognised by CFO Edwin Benard and HR Manager Lonneke Booms for their long-standing commitment to the company. Colleagues celebrating 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and even 50 years of service received a specially designed commemorative award in recognition of their dedication and contribution to CEBO over the years.

Following the award ceremony, guests enjoyed an extensive barbecue featuring a wide selection of meat, fish and vegetarian options. Later in the evening, teams competed in a lively pub quiz, creating plenty of friendly rivalry and laughter.

Live music rounded off the celebrations, and several colleagues even took to the microphone themselves, adding to the festive atmosphere and providing many memorable moments throughout the evening.

At around 11:00 p.m., the anniversary celebration came to an end. The employees were transported back to the mainland aboard the Koningin Emma.
