CEBO Field Training at Østergaard: Sharing Knowledge On-Site
Østergaard employees experienced the performance of Tunnel-Gel Plus and the new IPR-1909 during a dedicated HDD field training.
At Østergaard’s request, our (Senior) Sales Engineers Marcel Bijleveld and Eric van der Vlis from CEBO delivered a two day hands-on field training. Just like last year, the focus was on practical learning: participants carried out real drilling operations, tested different drilling fluids, and worked with the latest locating equipment.
Hands-on learning
The two days of training took place on a dedicated site where several drilling rigs were set up. Participants followed a structured program with assignments such as drilling to a fixed profile and reaming without a pipe. They were free to choose which bentonite or polymers to apply. The use of the DCI Digi-Track locating system was also part of the program.
In addition to CEBO, other companies contributed as well. Tracto, the rig supplier, hosted its own session on locating systems, while other partners offered complementary workshops in separate tents. Together, this created a varied and well-rounded program.
CEBO products in action
Two CEBO drilling fluids were applied during the training: the trusted TUNNEL-GEL PLUS® and our new product currently available as CEBO IPR-1909. Both products performed strongly. TUNNEL-GEL PLUS® once again demonstrated its versatility, while the CEBO IPR-1909 impressed under these conditions with a smooth drilling process and a clean, consistent return flow.
Because both products were used under identical conditions – same soil, rigs, and bore lengths – participants gained a clear and direct understanding of their performance. The result was increased confidence in CEBO’s solutions and insight into how each product can be applied most effectively.
Added value through collaboration
The two days training was more than just a technical exercise; it was also a valuable opportunity to connect. Thanks to the hands-on approach, lively discussions emerged, with plenty of room for questions and ideas. Together with our engineers, participants explored how processes can be made even more efficient.
Positive feedback came not only from Østergaard staff, but also from partners. For example, Tracto’s sales engineer joined the CEBO training and expressed his appreciation for the way knowledge was shared – and his interest in offering something similar for his own customers.
Conclusion
The field training at Østergaard highlights what CEBO stands for: thinking along, working alongside, and making a difference with reliable products and personal support. Both the proven TUNNEL-GEL PLUS® and the promising new CEBO IPR-1909 showed their value. This demonstrates how CEBO combines innovation with service – ensuring that customers can rely on the right support, in the field and beyond.
