Shout out: one Bell, many echoes.

After more than six years, CEBO International bids farewell to Dave Bell, who is leaving the company to take the next step in his career. Dave officially joined CEBO UK in 2018, after having worked closely with the team for many years through TA Drilling.

His career in the HDD industry began in 1992 at Ditch Witch as a Service Engineer, later progressing into training and sales roles. He went on to work as a Drilling Manager on international projects in Germany, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain. For sixteen years, he was with TA Drilling, where he was responsible for sales and technical training.

During that time, Dave regularly accompanied clients to CEBO Holland’s five-day Mud School, laying the foundation for a long-standing and successful collaboration.

Frank Ooms (CEBO Holland): “During one of the Mud Schools, I was talking with Dave that I might have some interest in starting to work for CEBO UK, as they were interested in hiring someone. But I also told Dave that it would not work out, as I would not be able to move over to the UK at that time. By the end of the school, Dave asked if I was fine with him contacting Richard for that job. And I was, of course.”

When he joined CEBO UK, Dave brought with him over 25 years of experience and an extensive network in the HDD industry. His role proved essential in strengthening technical support and customer relations, and he played a visible part in CEBO International’s growth as a market leader in Baroid drilling fluids.

Dave Bell: “It was with a heavy heart that I decided to leave CEBO. Due to changes in my personal life, the opportunity to rejoin Ditch Witch, just thirteen miles from home, felt like the right next move. The good news is, I will continue supporting CEBO as a distributor and look forward to ongoing collaboration.”

Davy Watson, Dave’s direct colleague at CEBO UK, reflects on their time together: “Dave has done a fantastic job over the last seven years supporting our customers with a wealth of knowledge and experience. On a personal note, having known Dave for almost 30 years, I was hugely flattered when, looking to the future, he considered me to take over his role at CEBO UK. I personally want to thank him for the time and patience he has given me, it has been an absolute pleasure working and learning alongside him the last 18 months.”

His sentiments are echoed across the CEBO network. As Frank Ooms puts it: “The remarkable thing about Dave is that he is loved by everyone. I cannot think of a single soul who does not like Dave. Hopefully, I will get the opportunity again to stand in front of the class with Dave while he’s performing his new job.”

CEBO International, and especially his direct colleagues from the Sales Industrial Team, thanks Dave Bell for his years of dedication, expertise, and commitment, and wishes him all the best in his new role at Ditch Witch, which he will start on August 1st. We look forward to continuing our partnership and welcoming him again in November at the Mudschool in IJmuiden.
